A Message from the Founder:

As a survivor of domestic abuse for many years, I have been blessed with the ability to have the compassion and understanding to know what it is to go through this horrible nightmare. After being raped, beaten, degraded, humiliated and financially abused. I wanted to make a difference in this world.  

I had very little help with trying to start a new life. My attorney, that understood me and knew what had happened was the only real hope I had at the time. She unfortunately passed away from cancer before we could even go to mediation.  I was very grateful for the peace she gave me before she passed. 

Left with little hope I gave up and walked away with little to nothing after the courts threw me under the bus.  

I then knew that I had to start over on my own. I left that state knowing that my only way to live safely after being stalked for almost a year from my abuser (ex-husband).  Would be to move as far away as I could. After moving thousands of miles away. I began to heal slowly but peacefully.  

Leaving with only the things I could pack in my car. I began to start the journey of my new life. A place to live, a job and food to eat. I one day found myself on a street corner begging for money and a job. I felt like I was at the lowest place in my life. But with the help of God and the strength he gave me I got a job and began the next chapter of my life. 

Seeing first hand that there was no real help out there in this world. I understand what I needed to do. This is how Ladies Surviving Abuse came to be.
